I was a huge fan of Out of This World, Flashback, and games like it. I probably mentioned that before on this blog. So any game thats taking inspiration from those classic adventures games definitely has my attention.
Candle, heading to the Wii U sooner or later, is described as a "Dynamic Graphic Adventure". It mentions Out of this World and Flashback on its kickstarter page (its already funded) and the early Oddworld games too. These are all games that I love and Candle being inspired by them makes me pretty excited for this game. Lets take a look what the game is about!
The main character, Teku, carries a candle around with him that can't be extinguished. He uses the candle to solve various puzzles and uncover "lots of secrets and clues." It sounds like the game might be a little tricky but also very fun and inventive. I also love that the developers have said they are not going to do a quick port to the Wii U and they plan to make use of the gamepad's touch screen capabilities and possibly other gamepad features!
Oh and as you can see via these screenshots, the game looks beautiful! Yes, thats exactly how the game is going to look! It has a wonderful art style that reminds me of a story book or a Tim Burton film.

Candle will definitely be a game to keep an eye on. I may write about it again when I know more about its Wii U port. For now, please check out the video and the kickstarter page. Its always great to see games like this come to the Wii U!
